Nona Inescu

Nona Inescu (b. 1991, Bucharest, Romania) lives and works in Bucharest. She studied at Chelsea College of Arts & Design in London (2009-2010), the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp (2010- 2011), and at the National University of Arts in Bucharest (Photography and Video Department), where she graduated in 2016.

Nona Inescu works with photography, objects, installations, and video to define contemporary relationships between the human body and its environment through the lens of posthumanism. Concepts of geological time and our intense interrelation with our surroundings compose an aesthetic of a primal contemporary togetherness in an organic and biological techno-sphere.

Nona Inescu has exhibited internationally at Tallinn Art Hall, Tallinn (2020); Peles Empire, Berlin (2020); Hua International, Berlin (2020); SpazioA, Pistoia (2016, 2018); Künstlerhaus Bremen, Bremen (2019); Savvy Contemporary, Berlin (2019); Kunst im Tunnel (KIT), Dusseldorf (2019); Swimming Pool Projects, Sofia (2019); FRAC des Pays de la Loire, Carquefou (2018); Art Encounters Biennale, Timișoara (2017); Survival Kit 9, Riga (2017); Kunstverein Nuremberg, Nuremberg (2016).
